What we did

With local partners, GAN offered girls the opportunity to consider widening their range of career choices by exposing them to fields in which females are underrepresented. The initiative gave girls an opportunity to become actively involved in the tasks of women in a typical working day through company tours. It also allowed them to meet and learn from successfully established women in these fields.

Outcomes

At the 2nd edition of Girls Day Namibia, 62 girls visited 6 companies introducing them to female professionals in technical fields where women are historically underrepresented, including engineering and other future-oriented roles. They also took part in 2-hour workshops on gender equality, menstrual health and gender-based violence.
