What we did
The Future of Apprenticeships Conference brought together leaders from 6 countries, including Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia, to reimagine how apprenticeships can adapt to rapidly changing labor markets. Spearheaded by GAN Australia and GAN New Zealand, the event convened employers, training providers, policymakers, and apprentices to discuss the evolving needs of industries, the impact of digital transformation, and the role of work-based learning in building resilient workforces. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and apprentice testimonials, the conference highlighted new models of collaboration and innovative approaches for strengthening apprenticeship systems across the region.
Outcomes
- Strengthened cross-country collaboration between Australia and New Zealand on shared apprenticeship challenges and opportunities, leading to the creation of an apprentice exchange program between the two countries and Canada.
- Created a shared platform for government, employers, and training organizations to align future-oriented strategies and reforms.
- Expanded visibility of apprenticeship innovation fostered through recorded sessions and post-event engagement.
