Forging the Future: How Tassaroli is Pioneering Work-Based Learning in Argentina

18th June 2025

In the heart of San Rafael, Mendoza, a region far from Argentina’s major industrial centers, one SME is making a big impact. Tassaroli S.A., a family-run company with over 70 years of experience in advanced metalworking, is redefining what it means to build industrial talent from the ground up.

Faced with a chronic skills gap and a dwindling local workforce, Tassaroli chose not to wait for external solutions. Instead, they launched a bold internal initiative to train talent directly from the community. Their approach? Deep investment in work-based learning, combining classroom theory with real-world practice, and turning their own operations into a living classroom.

From the establishment of the Carlos José Tassaroli Vocational Training Center to programs like Gen Técnico, the company has committed 5% of its profits to technical education and forged lasting partnerships with public institutions. Tassaroli has not only created jobs, they’ve built pathways for locals, strengthened regional capacity, and become a model for MSMEs across the globe.

In 2024 alone, they trained over 50 individuals, hired graduates, and inspired new business ventures. Their story is a powerful reminder that when industry invests in education, communities thrive.
