#SkillingNow continues in 2020 to provide a focused space for insight on trends and development in the work-based learning space. Latest activities include a podcast on digital competencies in the workplace and an interview with our Executive Director, Nazrene Mannie and The Adecco Group Foundation at #WEF2020 with Monocle on cultivating future ready workforces through work-based learning.

Also during the World Economic Forum Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Davos, we brought together our Chair, Laurent Freixe, CEO Zone Americas, Nestlé with Board members, Thomas D. Meyer, Senior Advisor, Accenture Switzerland, and Russel Mills, Secretary-General, Business at OECD for a panel discussion on the #futureofwork with Urs Gredig, CNNMoney Switzerland. On the sidelines of the AGM, we also organised an exclusive interview with GAN partner, the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s Secretary-General, Guy Ryder. Earlier this year, we were invited by our strategic partner, the World Bank’s Solutions for Youth Employment (S4YE) to participate with our members on a webinar dialogue on designing apprenticeships for youth. We brought together youth employment practitioners and private sector companies which included: Nazrene Mannie, GAN Global Executive Director of Global Apprenticeship Network; Bettina Schaller, Global Head of Public Affairs, The Adecco Group; Paul Champion, President and CEO, TranZed Apprenticeships and Timothy J. Scott Hall, Government and Public Affairs Manager, Communications and Media Strategist, Intel Costa Rica (a member of GAN Costa Rica). The session led to an engaging discussion on the role of the private sector in advancing youth employment and provided lessons learned from these organizations youth focused initiatives around the world.
