Focus areas: 

  1. Strengthen the commitment and visibility of companies’ and organisations’ engagement in apprenticeships and traineeships as part of a sound human capital development strategy.

  2. Share the best practices in the areas of apprenticeships, traineeships, mentoring and on-the-job training.

  3. Encourage a network of committed companies and organizations, at the global and local levels, to support effective knowledge sharing action programs and partnerships and to scale up international cooperation to this effect.

Focus areas: 

  1. Gender:  Understand and highlight the barriers to female participation in NZ trades, thereby providing valuable insight as to how to best support women in apprenticeship programs and effectively advocate for much-needed change across industry.

  2. Equity and Achievement:  Encourage employer-led traineeships and apprenticeships as a way to improve participation and achievement of priority learner groups in NZ, and work with business to sustain these outcomes.

  3. Business Advisory Services:  Build employer capability to help businesses improve and grow while getting the most value out of their training investments.

  4. Degree-level and Advanced Apprenticeships:  Broker new connections between the higher education and vocational education sectors to establish more robust work-integrated pathways and apprenticeship models aimed at achieving higher-level qualifications, including degrees.
