About the Event

SkillingNow will move to Las Vegas to join GAN Board Member the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at their 2019 Annual Conference and launch SkillingNow’s second theme The return on investment of work-based learning.

The debate about skills, and how and when to acquire them, is a constant drumbeat. Work-based learning, including apprenticeships, is increasingly recognized by business and policymakers as an effective way to increase employability, create an agile “future-proofed” workforce, and build a pipeline of talent that can keep pace with a fastchanging labor market.

But work-based learning can be complex and costly, especially for small and medium sized companies, with limited resources to invest.

This interactive panel addresses the question – does work-based learning pay off? It seeks to understand how companies measure the return on investment (ROI) of work-based learning approaches, such as apprenticeships. Bringing together a panel of top-notch HR professionals from around the world, the discussion will also explore the return on investment (ROI) of work-based learning for specific demographic groups including vulnerable youth and older workers.
